Ray and Rayna. had been living roadside in their RV.
They were without heat, had run out of fuel, and were unable to get to the hospital care. Starfish purchased a week of hot food and paid for parking at an RV park near the hospital so that Ray could be close to the care he needed at the end of his life.

Unforeseen life events can happen at any given time – to anyone – like an unexpected job loss, illness, a death in the family, or a broken-down car. And for some people, these hardships can be financially devastating. It happens every day, to people all around us – chances are you know someone this has happened to. And while our local nonprofits can meet many of their specific needs, there are often unexpected emergency costs that the nonprofits simply cannot cover.
This is where Starfish Connection steps in to help alleviate these financial burdens. Working exclusively through our partner nonprofit organizations, we provide funding to the individuals and families they serve to make a direct and immediate impact on our neighbors.
We provide crisis funding to individuals and families with emergent financial needs that cannot be met by other organizations or government support. We issue direct support up to $2500, usually within 24 hours of receiving the application and supply basic needs: rental assistance, past due car payments and utility bills, furniture and appliances for critically ill families.
